Herman Lee Jr.
October 2, 1950 - January 18, 2025A Life Well Lived: The Story of Herman Lee Jr.
Herman Lee Jr. was born on October 2, 1950, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the union of Herman Lee Sr. and Rubie Ward Lee. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, whose love and guidance shaped the man he became.
Herman (nicknamed "Peewee") passed away on January 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and dedication. After studying biology in college, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he trained in radiology and earned the rank of Sergeant (E-5). The skills he developed in the Army led to a distinguished 50-year career in radiology. Outside of work, Herman found joy in woodworking, barbecuing, and spending time in the great outdoors. However, it was his compassionate heart—always ready to lend a hand to others—that truly defined him.
Herman’s family was his greatest pride and joy. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Sharon Joan Lee, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories. He is also deeply loved by his children: Dawn Marie Lee of Houston, Texas; Jennifer Lynn Lee of Houston, Texas; Carl Travis Lee (Pam) of Houston, Texas; Deanna Lisa Garibaldi of Spring, Texas; Dale Matthew Lee (Tomoe) of Okinawa, Japan; and Johnathan Blake Lee (Chris) of Houston, Texas. His legacy lives on through his nine grandchildren: Don Giovanni Lee of Dallas, Texas; Amaya Alex, Ashton Xavier Bennett, Jayden Matthew Lee, Divanni Don Martain, Hunter Logan Rubio, Cassidy Jade Lee, and Jackson Wyatt Garibaldi, all of Houston, Texas; and Kenzo Raiden Lee of Okinawa, Japan. He is also survived by one great-grandchild, August Blaze Bennett of Houston, Texas, as well as a sister-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who loved him dearly. Herman leaves behind his beloved brothers, Anderson Ward (Ann) of Houston, Texas, and Roy of Shreveport, Louisiana.
